What Customers Say About Sirius S50-EX1 S50 Executive System:

If you are new to satellite radio, this is a great product to buy (especially at the current prices). The speakers are not 'tinny' in the slightest; in fact, they are full and strong. I just got my S50 w/executive speakers and both items far exceeded my expectations. And the music is the best part. The previous reviews below on Amazon were written in 2005/2006. Sirius is now running clearance on this radio/speakers for a very low price. The player is light and easy to use.

They had just put them out on display and I was the first to buy one yesterday - not that I've been hanging out at the electronics store waiting this entire time.I was so starved for the unit, I bought one without hesitation. The design and look is as elegant as the portable unit, but that is where the buck stops. The sound is uninspiring and I was surprised to discover that there is no tone control for the device.

It is the only volume dial that I've experienced that requires you to do so much work to hear your music.I had some difficulty getting a good signal from the Satellite, but it wasn't bad and it works great now.If I wasn't such a big fan of Sirius Satellite radio, I would have purchased a different unit months ago.I'm happy that the unit is finally available, but I expected much more. You have to dial it a full rotation to get the sound to go up or down.

You are stuck with the flat output of the speakers. The volume dial is unresponsive and frustrating. When someone comes into my office, or the phone rings, I have to turn the dial back the same amount.

Having owned my S50 portable unit since December 2005, I have waited a long time until the S50 Executive Systems arrived at my local electronics store. I didn't even look at the $218.89 price sticker, or give price a second thought.Today, I got the unit setup at the office and it looks great - very executive.

To turn the volume up to an enjoyable level, I have to rotate the dial 3-4 full turns to the right.

If anyone ever owned a transistor radio you will understand what I mean.- The antennae is obviously of the cheapest quality. Bose does that.- The sound quality is very "tinny". The technical description for this product is - Useless.Wait until the next generation comes out and lets hope they resolve the antennae issue.Meanwhile, mine will gather dust. Here are the negatives:- The unit only comes in one color. Why not white also. I live in a single family house and I have placed the antennae in every conceivable place (in windows facing North as per the instructions) and the signal quality never rises above poor.I also own an XM home receiver and there is no comparison.I plugged the XM receiver in and placed the antennae in the window and there has never been a problem. My advice to a potential buyer is - Wait.
